About The Designer of Urban Couture Jewelry
Since I was a child, fashion has been my passion. What better way to accentuate this, than with accessories.. I have been making jewelry since I was a little girl, and it's been an ever growing obsession throughout my life. I started making jewelry by stringing beads and mastered macrame at 10 years old, practicing for hours after school to perfect my craft. I remember always wanting to be different when it came to fashion and setting my own trends. I never wanted what everyone else was wearing, I wanted my own style. My grandmother was a seamstress and made most of my clothes. I always had a vision of the specific styles I wanted and made sure to express the importance of each detail. Reflecting back now I think I might have been a bit more anal retentive as a child but that has also been an attribute for me as design and art depend on the smallest details to make it that much more unique.
Over the years my style and experience have evolved. My skills include advanced macrame, intermediate wire work, sculpting, molding, casting, soldering, and expert bead weaving. I am a self taught designer and my specialty is bead embroidery. Even though it is probably one of the most tedious methods I feel it allows me to express my artistic side and skill best. I struggle to find my branding style as I love mixed media and work with anything I can get my hands on. I do love the mix of eccentric with a twist of sumptuously rich. My jewelry caters to women with a distinguished yet bold and elegant sense of style. I am inspired by adorning women with eye catching feminine yet dominant pieces. My passion is to encourage women through my designs to be bold, strong, and beautiful. My jewelry has been featured in madmoizelle.com, SALYSÉ Magazine and Universal Studios. All pieces of jewelry are 100% unique and hand made by me. My passion is fashion and I absolutely love what I do. I hope you do too!
